Dear Graduate

By Jeff Henderson | April 25, 2024
Dear Graduate

You probably feel the pressure.

The pressure to have it all figured out, to have the perfect plan for the rest of your life, and to know exactly what you want to do.

Can I tell you the truth?

That’s not how life worked for most of us. For some, sure. But not most of us.

For us, life was more of a journey of guesses, of exploring, with twists and turns, ups and downs, mistakes made and lessons learned. In other words, we figured it out along the way.

You can too. In fact, look at how far you’ve already come. You’re stronger than you think.

What you’ve discovered is something that will help you now. You’ve learned how to keep moving forward. It’s why you’ll walk across that graduation stage soon.

And don’t miss this life lesson as you do → You don’t have to figure out the rest of your life. You just have to keep moving forward and figure out what to do next.

And even then, it doesn’t have to be perfect. It simply needs to be the best guess in light of where you are, and what you know.

This makes life less like a test, and more of a journey to enjoy.

That’s a much better way.

Congratulations,

Jeff
